In certain circumstances, the European Customs Code allows for importers to apply for an Autonomous Duty Suspension to enable your goods to have import duties suspended if strict criteria are met.
In general terms:
The applicant must be based within the EU
The goods cannot be finished goods
There should be a reason why the goods are not sourced from within the EU
Success in applying for duty suspension is often based on a tightly drafted application that minimises the chances of opposition while at the same time limiting the extent other parties can benefit from such measures.
