August has been a busy month for classification regulations. The following have all been covered:

Extension Plugs

Extension Plugs

EC Regulation 727/2010 focuses on the classification of certain types of electrical extension plugs. The Regulation classifies these products to CN Code 8544.42.90 that attracts a duty rate of 3.3%.

Vapour discharge lamps for use in Projectors

EC Regulation 716/2010 classifies vapour discharge lamps for use in projectors. The Regulation classifies these products to CN Code 8539.32.10 that attracts a duty rate of 2.7%.

Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors

EC Regulation 717/2010 classifies exhaust gas temperature sensors to CN Code 8533.40.10. This Code attracts a nil rate of import duty.

A Video-Sound Installation (A work of art or not?)

EC Regulation 731/2010 classifies individual components that were put together to form a piece of 'Modern Art' as the individual components rather than as a 'work of art'. The CN Codes in question are: 8521.90.00 (13.9%), 8528.69.10 (0%), 8518.21.00 (4.5%), 8523.40.51 (3.5%) and 9405.10.28 (4.7%).

Steel discs used in the construction of Wind Turbines   

EC Regulation 732/2010 classifies certain steel discs used in the construction of Wind Turbines to CN Code 7326.90.98. This code attracts a duty rate of 2.7%.
