Commission Regulation amending the representative prices and additional import duties for certain sugar products

The European Commission recently published Regulation No. 368/2010 amending the representative prices and additional import duties for certain products in the sugar sector fixed by Regulation (EC) No 877/2009 for the 2009/10 marketing year.

EU amends additional duties on certain products from the US

EC Regulation No. 673/2005 imposed a 15% ad valorem additional customs duty on certain imports that originated in the United States of America due to the US’s failure to bring the Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act (CDSOA) in conformity with its obligations under World Trade Organisation (WTO) agreements.  Under that regulation, the European Commission will annually adjust the level of duties to the level of impairment caused by the CDSOA to the EU at that time. Under the latest EU figures, the level of impairment at this present time is equal to USD 95,83 million.

Therefore the European Commission has published Regulation No. 305/2010 which replaces Annexes I and II of the original regulation. The tables below are taken for the new legislation:
