We recommend importers of fasteners (screws, bolts etc.) check the classification of their imports carefully to determine whether they fall within these codes and if they have any doubts then submit well argued cases for classifications to other codes. If your goods do fall in to these codes then it may be possible to obtain an exemption from ADD by either working with your supplier to give an undertaking that its product is not dumped or by making an application to BIS showing why your specific imports should not attract ADD.
If you would like further information on these measures or possible actions then please contact us.
