EU Lifts Trade Restrictions with Myanmar (Burma)

05 August 2013

The EU has lifted trade restrictions with Myanmar from 1 May 2013.  The EU has also restored Myanmar’s General System of Preference (GSP) status as a Least Developed Country with effect from 12 June 2012.  As such, as originating imports attract a zero rate of duty from that date.

Businesses importing from Myanmar may qualify for reclaims on goods imported since 13 June last year.  If you need any assistance in making a claim please contact us.
